Stephenson House refurb complete

Scott Brownrigg Interior Design has created a stunning double height entrance hall at Stephenson House, 75 Hampstead Road, Euston for client Logica as part of a major CAT A refurbishment and rebranding of the building.

The extensive refurbishment and rebranding followed Logica’s departure from the building and their desire to increase its commercial viability and attractiveness to potential new occupiers. Scott Brownrigg has increased the size of the entrance and dramatically improved its image by changing and moving the façade forward to Euston Road and Drummond Street to capture new space up to the existing overhanging building line. In addition, by opening up the space to a 1st floor mezzanine level and adding a new feature staircase, a double height grand hall has been created, that is DDA compliant and delivers new usable spaces that can be shared by all tenants.

The design of the new atrium is contemporary, light and spacious and incorporates a striking staircase to the mezzanine level and three passenger lifts which serve the upper floors; accommodating the very complicated change in levels was also a key part of the design.

Support areas have been provided and include WC provision, a tea point and a store to support base build staff.  At first floor level an open break out area is provided, which links the ground and first floor with flexibility to be used for multiple purposes including informal meeting rooms or more formal client and company meetings.

Complex planning, fire strategy and building control permissions were also successfully achieved by Scott Brownrigg’s planning, architecture and CDM-C teams.

The project was managed by JLL and has proved successful in attracting significant new occupiers to the building.
