Baranowitz Kronenberg Architecture has stepped up to the hot plate with their recently completed interior design project in Israel. ZOZOBRA is an Asian noodle bar, offering the ultimate in fast dining mixed with innovative technology and a stylish interior design concept to heighten the whole experience.
At ZOZOBRA the energetic staff has been geared with wireless pads, the main space features a sizzling state of the art open kitchen and the overall experience revolves around the moto that "Whichever dish is ready, we serve to the table. No firsts, no mains…." At ZOZOBRA, private territory is blurred and replaced by a chance for social interaction. The ambiance of the venue varies as the day progresses thanks to the ever-changing led lighting schemes and the video art, specially directed for the project, shooting the inner world of ZOZOBRA on the walls. All of these features encourage guests to react to the space and to each other. Technology is a key feature of the space at ZOZOBRA and has been developed in consideration of the world we live in today; t reacts to that reality and embraces it. The open kitchen is a key element of the layout scheme. It is a powerful feature and is the heart and soul of ZOZOBRA. BK Architects wanted to do more than just expose the kitchen space; using the counter tops, woks and grills the designers have created a working environment that radiates energy and productivity and excites the customers within the space.
A three dimensional origami structure folds around the kitchen wrapping it up like a white cloud; a sort of a tempest "dancing" around the kitchen. The highly reflective black membrane finish of the restaurant ceiling amplifies and reflects anything that happens on the floor. ZOZOBRA is not a romantic space. It is an edgy space, ecstatic and cool. On the outside, BK Architects introduced '' ZOZOBRA PARK ", a linear "hilly" play of topography flanking the restaurant where restless kids can play while their parents enjoy a quiet moment. Planted amongst these hills are two vertical screens communicating ZOZOBRA's world to the street.
