Little Greene was thrilled to be awarded the Gold Award in the Best Wallcovering category at the recent House Beautiful Awards. The ceremony took place on Thursday evening (10 November) in the atmospheric and elegant surroundings of the Freemasons Hall in London.
Little Greene beat off stiff competition to secure the award for its 50s Line Papers collection, which was launched at the beginning of 2011 in collaboration with the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester, home to one of the largest wallpaper archives in the UK.
The collection was named in tribute to the celebrated wallpaper manufacturer John Line & Sons who, since the turn of the 20th century, commissioned artists to create innovative and adventurous wallpapers.
All the papers are careful interpretations of the original 1950s archive documents, respectfully adapted in scale and detail to honour the spirit of the period. In keeping with its previous heritage collections, Little Greene has embellished some patterns, refined others and applied its colour expertise to create a range of papers that will serve not just the 50s enthusiast but interiors of any era and style. |
