Getting Light Right
Getting Light Right
Innovative and versatile lighting is essential throughout modern commercial interiors in order to create the right mood and lighting ambiance. Hotels, bars and restaurants must achieve flawless lighting designs in order to create the perfect ambience for their guests while retail interiors must employ a lighting scheme that draws in customers and positions merchandise as objects of desire.
Whatever the purpose of an interior space, it is now possible to create the perfect ambiance by retrofitting energy efficient lamps. From LEDs that provide dynamic and on-trend light for a wide range of applications to energy efficient replacements for standard GLS lamps, interior designers can achieve fantastic lighting effects with eco-friendly solutions. Not only do these optimise the lighting within a building, but they also provide significant energy and cost savings.
An interior lighting scheme must compliment its surroundings so getting light right in a modern commercial interior is essential. Significantly, it is now possible to achieve on-trend lighting through the installation of energy efficient lamps that do not compromise on the lighting effect.
In the past, interior designers may have been wary of using energy efficient lamps believing their quality and light output to be poor and their size to be far too large to fit into many light fittings. In reality, the latest compact fluorescent lamps from high quality manufacturers such as OSRAM are extremely efficient, feature fast start up times, and are now available in a wide range of shapes, sizes, wattages and base types to suit any application. They also provide 80% energy savings in comparison to traditional GLS lamps and last up to 20 times longer.
Energy efficient halogen lamps are another alternative to traditional GLS lamps. These lamps add brilliant lighting accents with 30% greater energy efficiency and have excellent quality of light, high luminous efficacy and exceptional colour consistency over their whole life while being fully dimmable. For buildings that feature chandeliers, a candle-shaped halogen energy saver lamp is the ideal low energy alternative.
The latest LED modules and luminaires add versatile and innovative lighting effects to any interior environment and are taking lighting design into a new dimension. LEDs are highly efficient meaning these solutions benefit from extremely long lifetime and very low energy consumption (80% less than traditional lamps).
Modules and luminaires are available in white or colour-changing RGB options which add versatility to the lighting scheme. When RGB LED modules or luminaires are used in an application, the end user has complete control over the colour produced by the light source. This means that the colour can be tailored for a specific event to fit in with a brand or occasion. All the requirements from linear lighting applications to strip lighting, surface illumination and wallwashing can be met by installing an LED lighting product in an application.
Advances in energy efficient lighting technology means that there is now a highly efficient solution available for any environment. By installing a completely efficient lighting scheme, you can save money and achieve the desired lighting effect in any interior environment without compromise.
