With the current trends towards ‘green’ and ‘eco living’, conscience homeowners are constantly looking for ways to improve their carbon footprint in their homes. Living in Space provides a library of environmentally friendly options for the design, build and interior of your home, allowing for a luxury and stylish design combined with ecological systems that do not harm the environment.
Eco solutions in luxury homes are becoming an increasingly common occurrence through an emerging market that share a passion for elite living in the home while also housing a conscience. Whether one is buying a new home or renovating an existing space, there are many aspects to bear in mind, when deciding which ‘green’ avenue is the right one.
When choosing a floor, wood is the obvious choice being a renewable material. Ensure the wood has a FSC/PEFC certificate to prove where the wood has been sourced. Furthermore, look for paint/ laquer and varnish that is VOC free and therefore friendly to the environment and yourself.
There are now some smart quality kitchen surfaces entering the market that are all made of recycled materials and still allow for a stylish and modern look. When choosing appliances like cookers, refrigerators and dishwashers, seek out the most energy efficient products on the market where the energy saving logo is present.
