This year’s Sleep Event began in style with a packed British Institute of Interior Design (BIID)-sponsored seminar presented by BIID Past President, Lori Pinkerton-Rolet.
Lori delivered an inspiring talk, entitled “Fit for Purpose”, which examined the process involved in finding and appointing the best fit design practice for a hotel project. Using findings from extensive research carried out amongst BIID members and hotel owners, Lori explored the key criteria that determine how the right interior design team for a hospitality project should be selected. The session played to an appreciative, standing room-only audience in the event’s seminar theatre located on the busy show floor of the exhibition.
“With BIID members very active in the hospitality sector, the Sleep Event provides an important opportunity for our members to keep up to speed with the latest hotel design trends, innovation and thinking,” says Diana Yakeley, BIID President. “We were delighted also to support the seminar programme at the event. Lori’s talk provided an informed perspective for both designers and hoteliers, helping each side to understand each other better.”
Lori is a Director of Rooms-Service Ltd which provides bespoke design for the boutique hotel market. Other BIID members who provided content for Lori’s talk at Sleep included Stephen Ryan, John Beven, Christina Fallah, Adrienne Chinn, Jacqueline Cornforth, Karen Verzariu, Simon Hamilton, Matteo Bianci, Dean Keyworth and Julia Kent. |
