The Design Museum has unveiled plans to relocate to the former Commonwealth Institute building in Kensington, London. John Pawson has redesigned the interior of the Grade 2* listed building and OMA has planned the surrounding residential development. The move is intended to promote the new Design Museum to a word class centre for design, nurturing British talent and its international influence on design of all kinds.
   
Jeff Henry is inducted into Retail Design Legion of Honour
Jeff Henry, a principal at Gensler, the world’s largest design, planning and architecture firm, has been inducted into the Retail Design Legion of Honor at Retail Design Institute (RDI) International Store Design Awards Show. 
Renault launches design competition
Car manufacturer, Renault, has launched a competition to design the interior of the new 100% electric, two-seater Twizy. The competition is open to current Higher Education students, as well as Further Education students making the step-up this autumn. The top prize is paid tuition for a year.
BIID celebrates British design
The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) is launching an inaugural, one day conference event entitled “Celebrating British Design”. Taking place ahead of the BIID AGM, the conference will feature an inspiring line-up of headline speakers and experts drawn from across the design spectrum.
